Does cash go up in value?

Hello! Here is an interesting forex trading question with some good answers.
Say if I had $1000 today, would its value go up? (this is besides investing it in a bank)
But would just the value of the cash alone, excluding interest, increase in value, or would it decrease?
I often wondered about the same forex trading question. If you know more about this question, please share your knowledge.
Have a productive day!

It would only increase domestically in a period of deflation, which is very bad for the economy in general.
It could increase its value internationally without deflation if the world FOREX markets developed a larger appetite for your nation’s currency.
The first increase in value is an increase in its ability to buy goods domestically. The second increase in value was an increase in its ability to buy foreign currency.

no it declines in the presence of inflation. right now five bucks buys you more than a gallon of gas.
in a few years, five bucks will only buy you a gallon.
